Client: Company director (+ co-director wife)
Business: Painters
(commercial, industrial + residential)
Revenue: $630,000
Profit: $130,000
The client was struggling to keep up with business demands, generate new leads, and be involved in family life. He was working 75+ hours per week but wasn’t seeing his efforts rewarded. The workflow was inconsistent, staff turnover was high, and most weeks he was too tired or had no time to deal with issues.
We analysed the situation and set priorities and KPIs.
We established a new system of business values and beliefs that matched the business needs and owner wants, supported the team and gave the client more time to find and nurture leads.
We encouraged the client to step into a management role, add more trades so they could undertake larger projects and build a professional network
The business was growing and the client now had the confidence to hand over the day to day running of the business to new leaders so he could be less involved.
This was not an easy case. For one, it required a top-level change in how the business operated. However, the rewards included the client having more time to spend with his family and less anxiety about the business’ prospects.
